I know there are some in the Rusty Bunch that use Canventory software to catalog their collection. I think I remember a thread that mentioned that you can transfer the information in the Canventory software over to an Excel spreadsheet. Can anyone confirm if that is true? And if anyone knows how to perform that task, can they post a short explanation on how to do it?
Thanks for any information in advance.

Re: Canventory to Excel File Transfer Question
According to their site, the data is exportable in CSV format. MS Excel can open up a CSV file and you should be able to then save as an MS Excel file.

Re: Canventory to Excel File Transfer Question
Thanks Guys for your responses. I was able to export a CSV file and then open it in Excel using the character | as the column divider. I was then able to obtain a fairly complete spreadsheet file of my collection.

Re: Canventory to Excel File Transfer Question
I do this frequently, but there are always a couple of lines that end up wrong. Please check to make sure no lines have wrong data in the right columns.

Re: Canventory to Excel File Transfer Question
I'm willing to bet that this is because you are exporting the file and a CSV (comma separated values) and that there is a comma in your data and the export file isn't handling the comma in the data quite right. Just a guess based on programming experience. I haven't seen the code for this program so I can't be sure.Uncle Jackson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 7:03 am I do this frequently, but there are always a couple of lines that end up wrong.
