Cerveza Union Crowntainer
My understanding is this is one of three foreign crowntainers. True?
How tough is this can?
..asking because I just purchased one for $60 from a seller in Venezuela. Pic attached.
Finally, what is the best way to clean light surface rust from a crown? Light on the oxalic as well?
I have always been interested in foreign crowntainers so regardless I consider it a win..now looking for that elusive Hatuey...

Re: Cerveza Union Crowntainer
Not sure what the going price is for one of these, but in that shape it's got to be worth more than $60. Nice pick-up!

Re: Cerveza Union Crowntainer
There are two slight variations of that Union Crowntainer. I have 5 other International crowntainers. 3 others from Venezuela and two from Cuba (malta Hatuey and Cerveza Hatuey).
Michigan cans, Venezuelan cans, Canadian cans, latin American cans, US flat tops, 16 oz ss and flats, ballantines and Wiedemanns.

Re: Cerveza Union Crowntainer
The union can and the Zulia on the right of the two were on the cover of the ??1998 roster. They were later found in a plane crash in the high Andes per my sources. ( a number of cases- 60 dollars is excellent)

Re: Cerveza Union Crowntainer
I had luck with light surface rust on silver Hanley crowntainers using oxalic (only about 5 mins); below are before and after:

Careful with the soft toothbrush especially on painted non-silver areas!

Re: Cerveza Union Crowntainer
I think the going rate for that can in about grade 1- to 2+ is about $100-$125 so you did good. I think I paid $125 for this one about a decade ago.
I dump cans and cars, if you find old cars & trucks while dumping, please let me know.
