Miller Soft Cross 8oz. Can

#1

Post by mrlager428 »

I am wondering if anyone knows which Miller 8oz.is Tougher the one with a Black 8 on the side of the Can or the other one with a Gold 8 on the side?....Personally I never noticed there were 2 different Variations of this Can?....Anyone else notice this?

The gold 8oz version is definitely more difficult than the black 8oz.
Neither can is tough but you’ll flip 10 of the black lettered cans for every gold one.

Thank you for Your input!!...I thought the Gold one would be slightly Tougher...I only have 4 Aluminum Cans in the Collection and those are 2 of the 4!

I am assuming the gold lettering version came out first and they figured out the gold was hard to see?
Not sure on why they would change a kind of minor detail for any other reason.
The first white Millers had gold lettering on the back that was changed to red almost immediately after that can came out in 1954.

Yep - got both of them. I think there is a 3rd variation; just a different # in the triangle (canning code?)

Will look tonight. Thanks for sharing.

Si if the switch happened within the first Year than the Gold Letter Can should be somewhat Scarce?...No?

It would be rare if from a small brewer.
Miller was one of the biggest brewers in the 50s and made millions of cans each year.
So I guess it is scarce for a Miller can...
