This was recently acquired by keithker.

Thoughts?

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Good job acquiring ANY Manhattan ale. I have one a little better for sale right now. Recently upgraded to a grade 1.

@Rand and @Bob L This was a Dave Rusk eBay $70 buy-it-now item......and I got a Manhattan beer with it to boot (not shelf worthy but still....). Never thought of being able to get a good ale let alone a four panel version....

Can't send the eBay link at the moment since I'm at work..I'll add it later this evening to showcase the buy....

I sure didn't see that one on eBay … GREAT pickup! It's listed as R-10 in the Lilek book (one known), and while obviously there are a few more than one, it's not a lot more. If the great Rand Lindsley never saw one before, enough said!

The surfacing of this can is significant and is probably the coolest thing I've seen in the hobby in a while. It's not often that an essentially unknown Manhattan OI can surfaces. I'm not aware of this can legitimately being known to exist previously. The can in the book is one of the photoshopped creations. Completely makes sense though, since the 4P beer and 4P bock exist. If I'd have seen this auction, I'd have been on it like a duck on a june bug. I have the 2P ale, but this can is off the charts cool and possibly one of a kind. If someone else has this can, I'd love to hear about it. Keith, wanna double your money!! LOL :smt007 :smt005

Dave ended up with a lot of Mark Bryant's cans after his passing. It's quite possible that's where this can came from.

I reached out to Dave Rusk to see if he had any more details on this can.....here is what he provided...

Hi,, the best i remember? this can was found by utah mark bryan back in the 90's,Idaho?,,Wyoming?,,near yellow pine¿ around the ghost town of Atlanta,??,,thanks

There is a Yellow Pine campground area in Wyoming https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mbr/rec ... ecid=22876 but I was unable to find the ghost town referenced. There is an ad in the newspaper from Casper Wyoming from 1936 which would make it (four panel) around that time frame....

Atlanta is a ghost town on the middle fork of the Boise River northeast of Boise. Yellowpine is also in Idaho.

@renokenn Thanks for the follow-up....Both locations (Atlanta and Yellow Pines, Idaho) would be interesting places to get out and doing some digging.....
