Mr. Ed ( oldmoneytexan )
Thanks again for whining about someone posting about a live auction that isn't yours.
Ebay is for everyone, not just you!
For everyone else...
I owned a decent dumper years ago. I think it went to Mr. Fondron.
This is a VERY tough zip tab!!!

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
I think he was just posting trying to gauge how rare it is to get an idea about how much to bid without posting that there was one on ebay.
He asked me off site what I thought and the only way to answer was to ask. Nobody mentioned ebay until one poster on this thread did later in the thread. (appreciate the heads up though)
He was really trying NOT to mention it as he just wanted the info without sharing that one was for sale or where. Since I posted the pic of my Thanksgiving sales, I don't think it was a secret though.
There have been enough requests though off ebay to take the can off or "put a buy it now" price. I don't do that. I am a firm believer a can is worth what someone is going to pay and that is it. I really really enjoy the ebay after sale thread here. That really really helps gauge the price of a can for future questions and nobody will ever have to ask again. That thread is one of the best on RB!

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
One guy here in West Bend has one but it is beat up. I checked with a few other long time tab collectors locally and they don't have one. First thing they asked is "how much".
I've been finding older collections lately. Some interesting cans.

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
That is a super tough zip tab that was not going under the radar on eBay. I think it went to a buyer up north?

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
I've had three off grade ones similar to Mr. Lagers over the years until I upgraded to one similar to the auction can, and all three fetched less than $40 when sold. Fortunately, I didn't pay anything remotely close for my upgrade. Karma I guess.

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
I think $1500+ would be to much if it was mint 1++ tab intact bottom opened. Considering this was a offgrade 1- or 2+ what would a mint one get? $5k

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
Wasn't there a thread recently about what might be the first $10,000 tab? I'm not suggesting a mint example would hit that high but the prices do keep creeping up.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Re: Old Craft Brew Zip
I would think a $10k tab would be $1,000+ in book or so rare not in book at all. A tab rated at $50 or under $100 in book should never get $5k or $10K or even $1k in my opinion.
