I wonder what kind of award it was. Maybe for a big distributor?Unique San Miguel Beer Can in 24K Pure Gold. This can was presented by the San Miguel Brewing Co. in Hong Kong as an award, and is a one of a kind. It is hallmarked on the bottom with .9999 (24K). There are numerous dents present throughout the life sized 12 fluid ounce beer can. Gross weight is 239.8 dwt.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

I understand the can is made of gold, but is it hollow? If it's solid, how could it be dented so badly?

24k is pretty soft but I think it is still a safe assumption that can has been abused.Longhorn Mike wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:30 pm I understand the can is made of gold, but is it hollow? If it's solid, how could it be dented so badly?

That's around 13 oz of gold. If it were solid, it would weigh a LOT more than that.

I think gold is like 10x heavier than aluminum so there's more cyferin to be done as far as thickness of the can. Also looks like other sealed aluminum cans that have suffered altitude damage.....?

Re: Which one of you guys is gonna step up and get this?
That's cool. One of my jobs is selling mid-century toilets and sinks, you know, all the fun colors. I once tried to sell a pristine 1935 American Standard Moderno Low-Tank toilet, hoping at $3500 with the matching sink that it'd be the most expensive toilet on the Internet. But, no. Not only did I get just 2800 for the set, there were at least three more expensive toilets out there including a solid gold one for sale in UAE I think it was for about a quarter million bucks. There was also a NASA space toilet and one of those crazy electrified automatic Japanese ones that cost about $7k.
that said, there are more than a few beer cans that are worth more than their weight in gold. This one never will be.

Better to drive 950 miles and kick asz than go a thousand miles and get nothing.
