Swapping a Goebel bottle label

#1

Post by pinnacle-project »

I bought this Goebel chalk at the Eastern Great Lakes show last week in Cleveland. I like it but the labels are pretty rough. I think I should be able to find mint replacements inexpensively and then swap them out with these labels. My plan is to soak the old labels off with water, clean the glass with Goof Off, and then apply the replacement labels with a spray adhesive.

Sound like a good plan or do you have alternate suggestions? Thanks.

I have a Alternative suggestion. Forgot all that. Just get a nicer condition bottle with a better label already on it. They are not hard to find, maybe easier to get whole complete bottle with label then just a label. I might even have a extra around but will have to look. LEON.

I got good news & bad news. I checked & I got a extra bottle, still full with original cap. That's the good news. The bad news is I had about 50 nice clean 1940's Michigan Paper Label bottles boxed up because I ran out of shelf room. The were in a box wrapped in newspaper. The Basement flooded & all 50 bottles got ruined with newspaper stuck to them. Here's a pic of before & after I cleaned the paper off. Pretty rough, really sucks. LEON.

SO, I got more good news & bad news & good again. The good news is I found another extra & I'm pretty sure it came from a Statue like yours. Now the bad news. It's got a big crack in top of neck but on the backside so can't see from front. the good news again is I will send it to you for free with the 2 cans I'm sending you. Here's a pic. Bottle on far left. Would that one work? Let me know Leon.

Sounds good. Please add it to the box. Thanks.
