Easter Great Lakes Brewery Collectible Show Is smashing expectations!

#1

Post by thatsus02 »

The EGLBCS is coming up fast. The date is October 12-13 at the Days Inn and Suites in Richfield, Ohio. Early estimates were that we would fill 50 rooms for 2 nights. Current reservations have topped over 85 rooms and 180 room nights with people still making reservations.

The hotel has limited numbers of King rooms available at the rate of 99 plus tx per night. Please make sure they know you are with this group. There is hospitality both days included in your registration fee. You can pay that at the door when you arrive if you haven't sent it in yet.

The Lake Erie, Buckeye and Michigan Chapters have worked hard to make this a exciting, trouble free experience for you. There will be many things from some of the bigger can and breweriana collectors in the area who are attending. Come get that item you have been searching for and take it home.

If you are coming call the hotel today 330-659-6151 and don't be left wishing you would have. The flier can be found under the show name in the advertising section of the forum.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

I am in Washington DC right now but I will arrive in Grand Rapids tomorrow at about 1:35 PM. I am driving straight to Cleveland without going home first so I should get there around 6:30 or 7:00. I am looking forward to this show.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

2023 Shows Attended

* Michigan Chapter Winterfest, January 14, Frankenmuth Michigan
* Cabin Fever Reliever, February 24, Mishawaka Indiana
* Buckeye, March 11, Toledo Ohio
* SummerSwap, July 21 & 22, Frankenmuth Michigan

I really enjoyed this show. I'll post the rest of my pictures when I get home but in the meantime, here is something that I really liked (no, it's not mine, no it's not a available).

I was at the show as well, I picked up several cans mostly to replace cans that I sold off a few years back, just cans that I personally like regardless of price, met many old faces and met many more new faces, had a great time, thanks to all that put the show together, just hoping that someone steps up to plate and takes over the Renner show, I'll miss that one if no one does.

Clayton and company went way over the top to provide continuous drinks, food, and all around hospitality for the duration of the show. Very well attended with a good variety of things to cover all niches of the hobby. Hotel was ideal for a room to room only event. If first year attendance is any indication this show will grow to be one of the biggest events of the year.

Huge show! Room to room was fantastic, most people (Except Ohiocanguy) kept their rooms open 90% of the time. Interior rooms openned into an atrium like the old B&G Holiday Inn. The place was clean, well maintained and easy to walk around. Clayton and company had lots of Extra events to keep folks busy. The timing of the show is perfect, and I will definetly bee there next year.

My only downside was that restaurants were a couple miles away, and even though the hospitality room was well stacked, I had to go get something to eat!

Well, I'm glad you remained persistent Candog, LOL!! It was good to see you and talk cans.

Regarding local restaurants: My wife and I drove a few miles down the road (same road as the hotel) to a VERY local place called Whitey's. Place was absolutely packed. Food was awesome. Comfort food to the max. Stuff like a burger, with apple bacon and onion straws, a few Jalapeno slices, swiss cheese, some sauce all on a pretzel bun. Chili was excellent. Good drinks, great service. I will definitely go back next year.
