Craigslist score!!! The Can Gods Are Smiling Down On Me!
Hi all,
Perhaps I was just overdue, or perhaps because I displayed my cans in the Public Library, but the Can Gods have definitely smiled on me this week! Like many of you, I was searching thru Craigslist and found a posting for some cans nearby for 'Best offer'. The picture looked interesting, but you can never tell. He had about a dozen decent flats and he said the rest were stay tabs and bottles. Anyway, I figured there had to be $100 there, so I offered the man $50. I figured that was enough to put some new cans on the shelf and sell some to recoup my money.
I was sort of blown away when I saw the cans in person. They were actually cleaner than I thought, several had some cool vanity lids and amazingly several were still full. In fact, and I can never understand this, it appears the bulk of his cans were stored full. As many of us know, that often leads to pinhole leaks, staining and corrosion. UGH! So many of these cans have no visible can opener holes, but the liquid leaked out somewhere. The Muehlebach was still full, so I drained it from the bottom and cleaned it up good.
Anyway, here is the pic. I think I did pretty well:
Here are some of the vanity lids:
Oh, and the seller didn't provide this in his posting, but I found this in the box too. Still full!

WOW! If I am not mistaken, a year or two ago the can Gods smiled on you a couple times during a fairly short period of time. Karma seems to be going well for you. I rarely look on craigslist but when I do, I just see Billy cans.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.
