Bushkill Bock...in cans.....

#1

Post by keithker »

Ok that was a tease.....Ed Reid e61096 asked me to scrub the newspapers.com archives to see what I might be able to find on Bushkill bock beer possibly in cans....

I was able to find some good ads. Interestingly enough the newspapers in the database that had ads for Bushkill products included Pa of course but it seems that Wilmington, DE and well as Miami, FL.....BTW it's odd that the Miami ad was in January....A little too early one would think. Other Bushkill brands were noted in Tampa/St Petersburg Florida of all places. There were ads for Bushkill Ale in bottles of course in the Miami papers.

Oh yeah....sadly I was unable to confirm that there was ever any Bushkill bock cans

Here are some of the ads....

How about just a regular Bushkill J-Spout or Quart cone ad. I'd be happy just to see that. Thanks in advance. LEON.

@Leon Sorry not a single can ad......here are a few interesting ones I thought to add.....also looks like there were problems in 1937 that caused the Florida distributor to collapse from sales including Bushkill.....guess they spent all their money on those fancy trucks.....

I take back my thanks in advance. You could redeem yourself by posting a Detroit Regal beer can ad though. LEON.

Good luck. I have numerous ads showing bottles but none showing a can.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Leon, you should still have the Bushkill J Spout I sold you twenty some years ago still standing tall on your shelf, right?

No, I upgraded it & then upgraded it again with the best known Bushkill j-spout pictured above on left. LEON.

And then I upgraded the can on the right with the one on the left. I think my first Bushkill was the one you got from Mark, and my second one was from Dave Lewandowski.

No on-grade J-Spouts as far as I know. A few of the Quarts are in higher grade condition.

Mark,

My commitment is to J-Spouts in general, and the Bushkill is obviously a prime example. I've never heard of an indoor can existing. Andy Galamba dug one that's better than the can on the right in the photo above, but displayable cans are in very short supply.
