BR Lilek 476A with "CANCO" with quotes is in the supplement. It is of course an R10/R10 and according to Lilek the Grade 2 was brought to his attention by Dan Morean and believed to be the only one known at that time.

Leon, I thought the pictures look familiar also, but I think those cans came out of Vermont. I think I have the picture some where. When I see or hear stories like this and a few cans found I think how I would love to gear up and start looking with my detector and experience in doing these indoor excursions.

Oh, THOSE Kruegers. BCM and I stopped by to see those in philly a few years ago. I sat in the getaway car with the motor running (tank full of gas, sunglasses, check) while Steve went to try to buy them. The guy i think was a lawyer and would rather have something valuable other than money. I never got to see them. Sniff.

In other news, I just moved into another 1938 house. Anyone care to invest in my renovation efforts? My track record is Madoff-esque- infinite returns on your investment! As in, no one invested any money and then I found a Senate stubble worth about $1.

There is a long standing problem of information and history being lost to the general collecting public because it disappears off of these flicker or photobucket or other picture housing sites. To that end, I grabbed the pictures and am posting them here. While there's no guarantee therustybunch.com won't go away in time.....it has a much better track record than all the other options (except maybe Leon or Ed's personal files! :-)

So the non-can collector who found them still has them? What do we all think these are worth, each?

And yes, hats off to Rand for preserving these pix along with the story.

Good question. I saw a nice clean one for $3,000 in Indianapolis three years ago. It was on my short list of potential purchases, and it sold before I made up my mind. I don't recall whether it had quotation marks or not, but both versions are rated R9/R9.
