Heidelberg du feine
Finer flavor ale
Sicks 6 select OD WD

Between these 3 and the “Age Mellowed” Lucky OI from interstate that I found mixed in a group of lucky cans on eBay for cheap, it has been a banner week!
Couldn’t be more pleased.

Another splash of cold water--that's what I got.

After slowly deluding myself about my collection over the years, after this auction I am once again reminded that I play in the shallow part of the collecting pool.
I half heartedly bid on a number of cans. Some I had known realistically I had no shot, some I thought I might have a shot. Some, well, I was quite ill-informed......
In the end, it was about the same as usual: the ones I could afford I did not want, the ones I wanted I could not afford.

I got the other Running Waiter and the Samson Ale. Two nice additions for someone who collects graphics. I had bids on a number of other cans, but I was only relevant for the first few days of online bidding. It was a lot of fun following this one. Nice to see so many cans staying in RB collections.

I'm surprised the Fort Pitts didn't go higher, especially the dull grey can. The Samson Ale appears to be the same can I saw at Canvention in Cleveland. I looked at it over and over again and probably should have bought it. It will be hard to find another that displays so well.

Nice pickups, Mike. I was extremely interested in the older Manhattan, but two of you wanted it more than I did. Sorry I pushed you up a couple hundred on the Tru Blu at the end . . . I was going for a clean sweep.

Oh, I'm sure it was Rand. :) I think I counted at least 9 of my old cans in the auction, I don't believe you got them all directly from me. I thought about reacquiring my old Progress, but it went a little higher than I was willing to go before the live bidding even started. All good fun.

Ah, tit for tat! I was happy to get the semi-metallic at that price also. I missed a really nice white one for $1,000 by about one minute at Spring Thaw, but got a good deal on a Stark Valley Forge Bock OI in the same room.

I had 3 of my old collection cans going to new homes, almost a 4th but a recent upgrade of a TRommers BOCK OI kept it at 3.. I wonder if the Samson is one from a find of about 10 in an ADK dump- Rustmonger had a sweet one that Kruppie ebayed, and Mike Shnare dug a sweet heart with us that he ebayed yrs ago. @Mike S

For all intents and purposes.....I broke even. Lost money on a bunch of cans.....but made money on some others.....oddly enough it all balanced out to within +/- $10-$15K of what I had into it all. Perfect way to have it work out!

I bid more than i've ever paid for a can on the Trumps, but alas it wasnt enough. I was second place bidder on a few others but in the end.. zilcho. Hopefully there will be some shake out downgrades coming ...

I don't know if you looked at Missouri Ed's cans while you were at Cleveland, but I'm 95% sure that's the Samson he had. He dug cans all over the country many years ago and bought many cans on eBay in more recent years, so it could be from the find you mentioned.
