At a recent show I'd say it should sell for around $300. Just my opinion. I'd guess it will get more then $300 on ebay. LEON.

I would guess someone would have a $500 price tag on it but might come down a little

What I think it should be priced at & what people price them at is 2 different things. should be priced at $300 but you'll probably see them priced higher at a show. LEON.

YIKES .. It is a nice can, but my current finances prohibited me from speeding an exorbitant amount on it, so I bowed at when it hit the $ 200.00 mark. Even if the situation was a bit different, I probably would not spend that much money on it.

IMO
now that feedback has been left gotta say that went high ,
Schlitz and Blatz FBs are not scarce (followed closely by Old Style)
the 4 1/2 % Blatz is probably the easiest FB to find indoor/on grade and
almost always has a nice gold bottom , the bottom of this can is completely tarnished .
$265 to maybe $285 because of the cap
To me it makes Goog Goog sense !

There was a string of clean concave lager and heidelberg's that went for $800-$1100 last year that I think were discussed in the Ebay thread. Seemed sort of fishy but like this one they often seem to go waaaay too high. I don't get it, the Heilemans low pros don't get near the love and the Blatz are just as common. I like the black Berghoff low pros as well and you can barely give those away. Must be a Milwaukee collector thing.

I hope so, I have a really nice one, but I bet if I put it out there it wouldn't get much more than this Blatz. I was talking more in general about the low pros as this Blatz/Schlitz phenomena isn't limited to the flat bottoms. In fact, if you go by book price those other Blatz low pros are way further out of whack price wise than the FBIR. Someone posted some photos from a show here a while back and someone had a whole tote full of clean Blatz cones.

To be fair I am also a big fan of these Blatz cones, I like the old 30's look and when ongrade they are really nice. But I think the Old Style and Berghoff cones are just as cool.

SO, you must of been talking about the common black Berghoff Established low pro CB/RR. Those are hard to get over $50 bucks for them clean while a similar common Blatz CB/RR will get Many Hundreds. Yeah, Don't make sense. LEON.

Yep but I think I only paid $60 for my concave "Dortmunder Style" as well, those are tougher but not sure how many collectors even bother to look for them. I have seen a few flat bottom Berghoffs on ebay, I think they were all somewhat flawed but indoor cans that sold for $200-$350. I think I paid around $850 for mine but that was right off of Ted Larsen's website so I assume a little high? I like it so it is very low on my sell list but not sure it would get much more than that Blatz this thread is about. I think your $300 price for the Blatz fbir is about right. Funny thing I have been after those Blatz cones but still don't have the blue lager concave bottom, I don't think I should pay more than $150 for an ongrade example so may be waiting a while.

Blatz cones are the biggest mystery in the hobby for me right now,

At one time, and I had the largest collection of Blatz 1/1+ cones in the hobby 25 years ago, I could buy Old Heidleburgs in on grade condition for $35-$50 at local shows. I could buy 1+ examples from Larwood for $125 all day long. Sold my collection in 1996, Started back in about five years ago and was paying $175-$225 apiece for Old Heidleburgs and Lagers up until I sold that collection two years back. Six months later, prices shot up to $400 and then $500 for the same can, despite the fact that they are simply not rare cans. Then they popped further in a recent auction this past year, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, and were bringing in $900-$1100.

I have no explanation. These FBIR Blatz cans were plentiful in 1/1+ condition at the Indy show two years back and I bought two at $350 for the pair from a big dealer.

looking at Larwoods Catalogs from 1994 you could by mint clean Blatz cones for $65-$75 back then. By the time his 2002 Catalog came out the Blatz Cone Prices jumped to $135-$250. LEON.
