Post by Down in the Dumps »

They are advertised as beer cans, but I don't recall seeing any beer cans with cone indentions like these have. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

For some reason I occasionally get an error message when posting photos, and they don't show up in my post.

Here are the bottoms:

How much are they asking? If they are cheap, you might want to get them and then give them an acid bath. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

My guess is Schlitz, judging by the spot of color you can see on the far left upright can.

I'm with Bantam. They look like surface cans that have seen way to much sunlight. Of course someone else thinks they will clean up, based on the bidding.

They are on FleaBay. My buddy who is new to collecting was asking about them, but I couldn't help. I have passed all the remarks to him, abut I am not sure if he is currently bidding or not. https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-rusty-cone-t ... 1431.l2649

I noticed that high bid, too! I found some surface flat tops in Texas that were just rusty cans.. no paint was left on them.

I don't think I would have risked $36 on those cans but who knows? I hope the high bidder is successful at cleaning them up.

I checked with my buddy, and he wasn't the high bidder. I hope whoever got them can work some sort of magic on them.

The first can might clean up, the rest looked pretty rough & one looked way to far gone. LEON.

I had a nice clean indoor FB/IR with some missing paint on ebay for $20 bucks & no bids. My Description said perfect for a donor can but still nobody wanted it. Rusty donor lids cant be removed & re rolled back on a can like nice clean solid indoor donor lids. Art don't like to mess with weak rusty donors as far as I know. LEON.
