Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top
I always like to hear youns guys opinions on which can you would keep, so here is another one to look over.
Clevelanders know how tough the IRTP Leisy's cones are.....Way, Way, Way harder than the non-IRTP.
So which one would you keep?

although the right can has a few more blemishes - I love how bright the gold is. So I would keep the can on the right

If the can will be on a high shelf and you can't get within 3 feet of it, AND you are only concerned with the display... can on the right due to brighter gold.
If the can will be viewed at eye-ish level, AND you are concerned with future resale value... can on the left as it is the better can, condition wise, tarnish and all.
For me, 100% can on the left. Tough cans!!

I vote on the left here too. The fronts are pretty darn similar looking, and although the front of the right can may be a tiny bit better, the backs are no comparison. And hey, if you're looking for someone who would love a donation of the can on the right … both are super nice!!

Since both have their flaws it's a coin flip so what I would do is sell them both and buy a nice gr1 one with the money I made

Do you know where I could get a grade 1 IRTP?clevelandcanman11389 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 9:57 pm Since both have their flaws it's a coin flip so what I would do is sell them both and buy a nice gr1 one with the money I made
In 30 years, I have seen exactly 1 (of any grade) of these that was available. I passed, thinking I would be able to get one later. The IRTP is a really tough variation.

Re: Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top
The gold on the right is tempting but how long will it last? I vote for the one on the left. If you keep the one on the right, in time the gold will start to diminish and when it does, you will wish you still had the one on the left.
By the way, it must be nice to have problems such as picking between two really nice cans. :)

Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Re: Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top
Thanks everyone that commented on these cans.....I really struggled on which one to keep. I was leaning towards the right can because the gold was so much better, but finally let my wife make the decision and she said to keep the left can. So the left can now resides in the collection and that's one less can to try and track down.
I shall leave no cone unturned!!

Re: Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top
Another thought- since the IRTp is the key thing on this can- keep the one with the better-looking statement (left). I once "upgraded" my pre-IRTp Neuweiler's Ale quart with one that was quite a bit cleaner, except there was a hole right where the statement was and you could only tell there was no statement was when you held it side-by-side with an IRTp. Always felt like a fake.
Better to drive 950 miles and kick asz than go a thousand miles and get nothing.

Re: Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top
I agree with your decision for reasons above plus the rust at the bottom face of the can on the right. The m ore I looked the "easier" the choice is. Good call.
