18 for me in WV. All our beer was 3.2. It ran around 35 cents a 12 oz. bottle in a bar.

Re: The cost of a beer the year you turned 21
Connecticut kept changing the drinking age from 18, to 19, to 20, to 21--at EXACTLY the same time I was turning 18, then 19, then 20, then 21 back in the early 80's. Some years I was a couple months to the good, at least once I was underage for a month or so. I seem to remember buying Busch at the small grocery on UConn's campus for $1.99 a six ...

When I turned 21 you could buy a case of Bud, Miller, Old Style or Stroh's at Walgreens for $5.97 + tax.

I don't quite remember the price of beer, I think a six-pack of Schlitz was about a $1.50.
I do remember that an ounce of good weed was $20.

Re: The cost of a beer the year you turned 21
I was (am) always good at finding cheap prices for beer. Pfeiffer's was $3.99/case of long necks in the mid 80's when I was in college, I think maybe Leinenkugel's was also $3.99. On a more recent note, I got two cases of Molson Canadian for $7.50 each after rebate a few months ago.
