Detroit Regal Beer Can.
Looking at the Newspaper Archives it looks like the Regal Beer Can was only canned for Approximately 6 short months. It was canned on my Birthday. August 29th but in 1936. By early or mid 1937 the Brewery was sold. LEON.

Here is some additional information from the Detroit Free Press you might like. The first one is from February 18, 1937. The second one is from February 22, 1937. I find the second one interesting. I feel like to a certain degree, they were trying to distance themselves from the Regal ownership. I can't blame them given their background.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Interesting. Lileks book speculates Regals demise was possibly the bad can lining from National can company but I speculate it was something else. LEON.

I drove around the back of the Regal Brewing co today. It looks like the place is occupied every time I go by it for past 20 years. Someday when empty I wonder if I can sneak in & find a case of Regals hidden in attic or somewhere? LEON.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
