RB #48 Gordon Bruhl Passed

#1

While consolidating a list of those RB members that has passed on it came to my attention that one was missed:

RB #48 Gordon Bruhl joined in 1984 lived in Paradise CA and passed away on Oct 26, 2017.

Sadly I knew nothing about Gordon and a quick scan of the Rustlings only indicated that he had attended the 1986 RB meeting at the 16th Canvention held in Portland.

Mr. Bruhl's passing was noted in the "Remembering" section of Beer Cans & Brewery Collectibles magazine, as follows:

Gordon Bruhl #1037
Paradise, CA, 1923–2017(October 26)

Gordon had been a member of the BCCA since 1972 and was the second-oldest member of the club. When he was a young boy, his mom made her own beer, and his job was to scoop the foam off the tops of the containers. Gordon collected for over 40 years, having more than 3,000 cans, including some of the oldest produced. He turned his garage into his beer can/bar room. He was one of the founding members of the 49er Chapter in Sacramento. His granddaughter Tracy started going to the Micke Grove Park trade show with him at the age of 12. Gordon’s favorite beer was Guinness Draught. In late years, he limited his collection to about 300 cans brewed in California, several signs, openers and small beer bottles, mainly Burgermeister. Tracy is now a member of the BCCA and has combined their collections.
