The tall green Primo is more common - need the standard height green Primo, foreign writing or not.

thanks,

Yes, the one I saw in the collection photo is the standard height. There is a whole seperate collection of tall 12 ounce cans.

Always thought that Olympic Schlitz was cool.....because it was the year we boycotted the olympics. Always pictured some guy in Schiltz marketing losing his job over that. Never found the can to have a lot of monetary value.....but it's a great talking point on your shelf when you're trying to show your collection to a non-collector.

And Schlitz came out with a tall 12-1/4oz can just for New Mexico back then....to get around some 12oz tax laws. Budweiser went to 10oz cans at the time.

Image isn't really clear but looking at the coloring of the Schlitz tall 12's in the middle row, I'd venture a guess that you might have some test cans there! Check p. 240 in Volume II book.

Also, top row, far left, Coors can. Don't know if I've ever seen script lettering below the Coors name. And the Coors Light. Is that a sticker or opening on the top lid? I 'd be interested in these two Coors cans.

Any gold Primo exports?

Are there any paper label cans or cans made for events, like CANventions?
In the tall 12 oz cans pic, bottom row 2nd from the right, I see a CANvention can. Any others?

That Coors light is first version or a test can possibly agree some Schlitz look like test cans as well.

Why does this remind me of the Seinfeld where Newman and Kramer get the idea to fill Newman's mail truck with cans to bring to Michigan because they could get a dime each for them?

Any ten ounces in there? For that matter, I'm also looking for certain cans from Dixie and Royal from the 70s and 80s,and one of the many seeking General Brewing Jax and Jax Light.

Oregon doesnt require the statement since they went to automated machines. I have turned a lot of non oregon cans in that as long as it was upc’d the machine took it.

If the bar code is showing, then the cans be smashed flat, right? Un-smashed would take up a lot of space....

oly.PNG
Eric - are any of these Oly aluminums any good?
Probably not anything in the Olympias that i see except maybe the misprint straight steel. I would probably buy all of them just to look for an odd variation. Just a thought.

Also, the oregon deposit machines dont work on smashed flat cans ....so that may be a space issue. Where i live they actually have a company that deposit returns is all they do for a business .... but it needs a UPC. They take anything from my experience.

On the tall twelves:
the Yellow Coor's light is the first generation that people always list on ebay as a test can but they don't sell.
I would take any of the Schlitz, Stroh's and Schaefer's if they are from General Brewing, Tumwater, WA.
Dixie Dave is right on checking any Jax cans to see if they are from General Brewing as well. Lots of takers for those two on ebay.
The misprints tend to sell if cheap enough.
The OldBru will usually sell.
You might sell all the Coors short runs as a lot ...(Turbo, Golden lager, 1st Gen coors light, masters)
It would be worth it too pop open the USBC book test can section and check them all out...especially the Schlitz and Stroh's.

Yes Japanese is common on the sides for the dry. If you find a dry with the Japanese writing around the top rim in red ....that one is a keeper and very rare.

All this talk of Japanese writing- there is a Dixie can from the 80''s or 90's with a sticker on the side that is Japanese writing. I would be very interested in that if you have one. There were a fair number of them floating around here back in the day, sadly the silverfish got to mine.

Thanks to all for your feedback. Now we have a better idea what to look for (and save) during our thinning process. Almost all of these cans are bottom opened and if there's one can there's most likely a case. When i do see something cool while I am crushing the aluminum, I usually put 4-6 of them away, espeically I have a case. I crushed 80lbs of aluminum last weekend. Got a whopping $36 for them, but it goes towards the rental truck and gas, and there's plenty more headed that way.

Also, there are hundreds if not thousands of dumpers to thin out as well.

Hello Ed,

Check the numbers on seam easiest way to identify. I consider them Very Common=$5, Easy=$20+, Medium=$40+, Hard=$100+. All of the bird cans 12oz are obtainable, lots out there. 16oz are tougher. Other scene cans wide range of prices.

314 - Very Common
324 - Easy

504 - Very Common
514 - Very Common
574 - Very Common
604 - Very Common
614 - Very Common

You can see more details here http://www.mbcinfo.com/Suntory

As for doubles of any straight steel tabs. I collect all minor CA tab variations and if you think slag, if you could please throw them in a box and bring to Watsonville, likely variations I give you $$$ instead of just trash. Cool problem to have!
the 12 oz with "FRESH" on the4 label are harder than the ones without. (I know Randy knows that, but FYI for the others).

Set aside all the Primos and I';ll take them.

So what did you destroy? Maybe you got rid of something that someone would have wanted, if they only had known that it was available.

So what did you destroy? Maybe you got rid of something that someone would have wanted, if they only had known that it was available.
There are hundreds of cases of worthless aluminum and Dale wants his car trailers back. We still held back 4-6 of anything (sometimes more) we thought might have some value. You can only keep so many John Wayne Coors cans...etc etc etc.....we cant do anything with Lucky 96 or Red Carpet Beers.....

Anybody interested in a collection of Generic Beers for the 1980s? I think there is close to 200 different!
