Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
The Altes that's non IRTP is tougher & he must of known that to price it higher is worse condition. I like my Altes mint & I had these 2 mint until my dang basement kept flooding & all the moisture & humidity turned my mint Altes into spotty grade 2's so both of those would upgrade mine. I'll PM you. THANKS, LEON.

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
As we all know Most antique stores prices are way to high. Then they put up the so called 20% off sign.

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
Yes the price was worth the trip!!...The Bock Can had what looked like dried Beer Stains on it...A little Clorox and a rub down with WD-40 and it looks a lot better!....It was worth the trip and price just for that one alone!!

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
In case anyone wants to know, this was the Dick Preissel collection. Dad was friends with him.
I think he started collecting in the mid 60s. Dick would come down and go through dad's cans and Gordy Derocher's cans at the Menomonee Falls show on Wed nights.

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
Anyone been back here lately? I am going to Milwaukee tonight and may swing in on the way back tomorrow to check these out but really interested in the Erlanger quart if it is still there. Will these guys just not negotiate on these cans? Odd they have been there so long.

Hey Bob, did you ever get the Royal Amber?OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 3:00 pm Bjorn,
I'll send you a pm with some info.
I'm specifically interested in the Royal Amber and red Goetz Country Club. Very curious if the Royal Amber has a replaced lid.
Thank you and I'll get you some contact info, etc.

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
I went back to scope out the Royal Amber this past summer- we came to the conclusion that it had a replacement cone. I need to get back there soon- Ziphippie

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
Actually, I did just a month ago at the Eastern Great Lakes Show. Link to the thread with a pic of the can is below. I'd still like to upgrade it at some point.CrustyRusty wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 3:18 pmHey Bob, did you ever get the Royal Amber?OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 3:00 pm Bjorn,

Been looking for a decent example for years to put next to this sign. Actually, the sign has some wear so maybe I should stay with the offgrade can so they match, LOL!!

Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
Yeah, I knew you picked up one at the Great Lakes show, but I was wondering if you had purchased the one shown in the beginning of this thread, it looks as though it has been determined to have had a replacement top put on and still is at that antique mall for sale.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:12 amActually, I did just a month ago at the Eastern Great Lakes Show. Re: The Dells- antique mall revisited
Bjorn was cool enough to actually call me from the Antique Mall one day and go over a few cans while he had them in hand. The Royal Amber had a replaced cone and several other issues. Like major gear marks and maybe even some paint touch up. Something like that. Was basically three strikes and your out for me.CrustyRusty wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 2:35 pmYeah, I knew you picked up one at the Great Lakes show, but I was wondering if you had purchased the one shown in the beginning of this thread, it looks as though it has been determined to have had a replacement top put on and still is at that antique mall for sale.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:12 amActually, I did just a month ago at the Eastern Great Lakes Show. Guys have asked, why haven't these cans sold because they look so good in the pics? It seems that what is left is either way over priced or has originality issues or condition for the price issues. Essentially, if they're still there, there's a reason.
Perhaps by now they are more willing to negotiate on some of the better ones.
