Yep, fakes/reproductions/retro/fantasy/etc. are terrible for any collecting hobby. Disgruntles many and draws money away for the real deal for others. Not good.Mike S wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2018 5:45 pmUntil the next person sells it.Diamond State Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2018 4:27 pm At least it says Fake in the description...saves the less knowledgeable from bidding crazy.

Re: It's getting ridiculous
BigMamaChuck is the main reproducer. Have to say that I had him make a Tiger from Manhattan for me just because I wanted it to go in my collection of "Cat Cans". Hate to say that it was a frighteningly good repro, even though no one would ever mistake it for a 1930's can.

Let ye with no relids in your totes not labeled as such cast the first stone. I would hope the next owner would be as honest. If not then let the buyer beware..like every can show.

And may your blacklights yield no touch ups.
Actually, I think the biggest threat to the breweriana hobby as a whole is the reproduction porcelain and tin signs. They have become frighteningly close to the real deal and I won't buy one unless I see it in person or know the seller.
