This is just a quick search of canned beer that was available in Texas in the early years.....a few might surprise you....Kings beer and Ale in Waco....wow....There was the typical Schlitz cone top but I didn't save any of those....

I've dug many Pabst Export, Atlas Prager, Berghoff, Muehlebach Pilsner cones, and many oddballs here and there, but never heard of anyone digging a Kings, Edelbrew, or PON.

I know it's not in cans, but I'm really interested in what a Falstaff Malt Liquor label from the 30's looked like. I didn't think they made a malt liquor until the 60's. Also, the King's ad was looking for distributors. It is possible that they never found one, so Kings might have not been sold in Waco.

@Longhorn Mike Sadly only those ads from Harlingen, Texas were the only ads I could find with that There were multiple ads April - May 1939. I'm going to guess it was maybe a mistake......

Bill Lindstrom had an indoor (barn?) find of 1935 PON Beers and Tru Blu Beers in Texas years ago.

I believe I solved the Falstaff Malt Liquor question. Here is an IRTP Malt Liquor label. Notice is states it is for sale in Texas only.

Just answering some ones question when they said they thought malt liquor was first introduced in the 1960's. People ask Questions & I answer them. Then start a new thread/post about who made the first Malt Liquor. Clix gets the credit in other Articles, Wanta see if your connections with your newspaper.com subscription can prove them wrong. Hijack over. LEON.
