So, obviously the cans are vintage, but this find actually happened 27 years ago by a non can collector. I acquired the cans several weeks ago from him.
The potentially interesting can here is the Acme with the word "Brand" under Englishtown. Not in the book and to my understanding, not even a known variation until sometime in the last five years or so. All cans are from San Francisco.
Back story: Cans were discovered in 1990 in Santa Monica, California. An electrician (the guy I acquired the cans from) was working in an old elementary school and found them in the ceiling. Originally, six Burgermeister's and the one Acme. He told me he sold off two Burgermeister's 10-15 years ago. Otherwise, he held on to the cans until recently.

Re: Vintage California Find
That Acme is a great and tough can. There is also a very elusive Los Angeles variation to look for.

Re: Vintage California Find
We dug both the LA & SF version here in NM at Dan & Brad's Black Eagle dump.... the SF's are much harder and I think we only dug 3 or 4 of them while finding maybe a dozen or so of the LA's. Great Find!

Re: Vintage California Find
OK....so Josh says LA is the tough variation.....Ed says the SF is the tough variation......anybody else want to jump in with more confusion and possibly the super super tough Santa Rosa variation?

Re: Vintage California Find
A lot of these old graphic OI's are pretty cool, I may have to start watching them more and pick up a couple, maybe switch gears for a few months, some nice 1930's OI's mixed in with my cones would be nice
