Re: TV pic from Vietnam doc
From reading books I learned the troops in the rear quite often kept the Budweiser and sent the Black Label to the guys in the field...Been buying Black Label recently- about $8 a 12 pack now...I actually like the taste (along with Schmitz and PBR) better than the other macros..
Looking for Blue Ben Brew 3.2

Re: TV pic from Vietnam doc
That's a pretty neat picture. Thanks for posting.
I worked for a number of years with a gentleman who had served as an aircraft mechanic in Vietnam. He spent his tour stationed at a maintenance facilitiy, and the most striking recollection (to me) that he had regarding canned beer was that everything was in flat tops. No tabs that he could recall. He remembered Pabst, Bud, and Miller specifically, along with Coors and Olympia. He said Vietnam was also where he developed a taste for San Miguel.
I'd think it would be rather interesting to see the contents of a base dump from that time period! If they even had them...I never thought to ask what they did with all their empties.
