tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
I never knew this was anything special until I saw it in the 'notable ebay sales' post.
Someone please tell me more about it, and how it got priced in the book for just $1.
Unfortunately I don't remember where I got it.

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
Hey! Just saw this. The 12oz cans are a test can and I'm thinking there are about 11 or 12 of them that I know of. All of the ones I have seen are opened with the same opener. I have not seen one without a lid like yours.
There is also the original prototype Can which has glued on aluminum panels and glued on plastic mandatory labels.
The 8oz cans were filled and are a dime per dozen.

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
Kurt is the Miller expert, but I think there are more than a 12 pack out there. At least 2 or 3 a year sell on eBay, and even I used to have one (that still resides in a local collection).
My guess is there are at least a case or two running around.

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
Yep, I'd buy that there is a case of them out there. I think they are a bit overlooked because the design is exactly like the 8oz, which are everywhere. Because they are all opened with the same opener, it's hard to tell if I'm seeing ones that are just being resold or if they are new to the market. The opener is kind of a hexagon shape like a screwdriver shank or something.......2 holes.Longhorn Mike wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 9:59 pm Kurt is the Miller expert, but I think there are more than a 12 pack out there. Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
My friend, I know what you're saying. No love for cans from New Orleans either. Several of our local cans are also criminally underpriced.YooperAho wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 8:24 pm Eh! yooperaho here.

Do want to hear your stories about this Miler can next week in Cleveland. Look forward to seeing you there.

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
I have a Miller Soft Cross can that I bought on eBay a couple of years ago that is bottom opened different than the "screwdriver" round holes seen on most examples. Mine has tiny holes on the bottom where the beer was evidently drained from the can. Here are the pics:

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
Chalk up another one, Kurt! Showed up at 1:30p.m. to a retired 93 year old Miller maintenance workers estate/tool sale today on the shores of Lake Nagawicka. Hiding behind some green/orange Miller Halloween merchandise cans was this top-opened 12oz. soft cross! Bjorn

Re: tell me about the Miller soft cross 70's can
I gave him ten times his asking price of $1.00 and he looked at me funny. I was bringing zoinkss his metal detector and stopped at a nearby Miller employee sale that was advertised on CL, we had discussed the fact that most aluminum(and possible test cans) are overlooked and my late 1:30 arrival time left slim pickens but he encouraged me to go, he always says, "you never know"- Bjorn

Since it's rarer top opened variation would that make it worth more that way
