Different Advertising Technique

#1

Post by MI-Cans »

Found this Bosch ad. Actually 3 of them. (I combined them into one picture.)

They were in the paper for three weeks. First week the ad showed only the left side. The following week the ad only displayed the right side. And another week later, the ad finally showed the front of the can.

Now that' something different!

Yeah! I was 6 and a 1/2 when those ads came out. A LOT simpler time for me, for sure.

Yeah...no twitter back then. It was even before "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" TV show (1955-1958) which I probably watched all 78 black and white episodes. Never mind. You'd have to be my age to even know what I'm talking about!

Yes! Sergeant Preston and his dog King... watched that show every week back in the 50s, read the Dell comics and ate a lot of Quaker Puffed Rice with all the various premiums. Probably still on youtube as I watched a few episodes a couple of years ago.

oldindiapaleale,
It's obvious you do know what I'm talking about. I always wanted a dog like King. Somehow, I must have failed to communicate my wish cause we ended up with a Chihuahua!

I got one of those videos with a ton of episodes from early TV. I occasionally watch the Sgt. Preston ones.
