What if
You are attending a show and the raffle prize is something you would really like so you buy a lot of tickets, suddenly the raffle starts and the prize you want is no longer there, what do you do?

First, I would ask one of the club members what happened to it. Theft? Or, maybe, I was mistaken and it was really not a prize.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Probably ask for a refund after finding out the reason it was no longer available. Then I would probably just be really pissed and never attend the show again. Bait and switch? Bad situation all around regardless of the reason......

I think the people I meet at shows are good people overall. I'm betting Danny's question is based on something that really happened. I bet whatever happened occurred due to a screw up as opposed to purposeful malicious intent.

Many years ago the raffle guy in our chapter would give things from the raffle table to new interested collectors who came to the show. His reasoning was that if it brings someone in to the hobby it was worth it. now I'm sure these items were nothing of extreme value but the problem is that someone may have bought tickets for that particular item. He is no longer the raffle guy and he tried to do this, a couple years back, at one of my raffles. I pride myself on having great raffles and setting them up in advance for the two day show in order to entice the patrons to buy many tickets. I would be livid if something was pulled from a raffle whether i wanted it or not, that prize is just one more chance to win a prize.
