Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I watch stuff mainly to see how much it sells for because most of the stuff I watch I can't afford BUT I like to be informed on values.oldindiapaleale wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 8:28 pm You may have noticed that ebay, with their infinite wisdom, has decided to make it more difficult to look at a closed listing.
In the case of the link to the fake Stoney's conetop, they take you to a live auction for a Wooden Shoe conetop.
Notice the line in blue that says: The listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.
Really. I wanted to see the Stoney's fake that we are discussing and they bring up a Wooden Shoe instead.
I've added pictures showing how to get to the Stoneys. Click on "listing" which will bring up the Stoney's. then click on "see original listing" which will bring up the pictures.
Please note that this does not always work. I have encountered some items that bring you to a page that says "This product is not available at this time" and you can not get to the original listing at all.
What a waste of time. It makes sense to copy all the pictures and text info for future reference while you still can.
Now I have to go to 'sold listings' to get a value... YES sTupid eBay! ... I have to do another search.
ANOTHER GLITCH IN THE eBay system are the photos in listings. The photos that a seller saves in his inventory are now 'lost' within 90 days.
I used to be able to re-list items that were 8 to 10 years old (and in 1+ condition) with just a few listing-up-grading-clicks on the mouse.... Now I have to take new photos or find the originals in my data base. GOOGLE is causing the photo issue because Google wants to prohibit photos with watermarks in search results. (Anybody notice how the eBay watermarks disappeared a few months ago?)

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Is there any way to search Ebay SOLD results more than 90 days old?
I thought I remember reading once that there was a pay for it service where you could go back much further, like years.
Is that still available, or no longer available, or am I just delusional?
I know you can easily view your own purchase history three years back. So, the data must be there.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Just another ebay gripe, lately I have noticed the auctions default to the "allow offers", they don't even show you this on your initial screen, you have to expand the seller options to disable it. And if yo go in and add pictures or something after you list it again defaults back to the allow offers. Now today I noticed they are going to charge me 35 cents to disable it! What is their angle here? I don't want to have to pay attention to offers, it's an auction and if someone makes one I think no one will be able to bid until I realize there is an offer to decline thus losing potential bids. Really annoying.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Thanks for the heads-up. I was looking for that feature.. I have not found that option for my seller listings. But I have put a lot of 'offers' in for other auctions as a buyer.ConeAddict wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 2:20 pm Just another ebay gripe, lately I have noticed the auctions default to the "allow offers", they don't even show you this on your initial screen, you have to expand the seller options to disable it. I guess we need to read the fine print. eBay shoots itself in the foot alot.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Definitely a tough tab, much more common as a flat. Sounds like a real high price to me, but anything much over $100 is way out of my league ...

I assume this is the Leinies sale that beerhunter mentioned. I agree with him - I would think this to be a $10 can.

Must be because it's about mint 1+. if it was a grade 1 it would be a $5.00 can.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
SAME DESIGN as my tab but the flat tops are a lot higher quality. One issue I noticed was the lids don't match on the flat top. It is in nice condition like Leon said. My tab is near perfect... best I've seen.beerhunter14 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 5:16 pm jomama- Same color but it a Flat Top

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Well, it seem to me that the brewing company ran out of pull tab and they have to use different lid so it classified a flat top during the 1970's My can appear to be air sealed, I find it a little strange look a little different lid? and NO I did not buy off from ebay. Other interesting not. I have seen some these cans are the show not to long ago. I didn't bother taken a closer look.
jomama- Can you shown a phto of your Leiniekugel's flat top. The one look the same as pull tab.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I was just looking at the flat top pictured in the ebay auction. Look at the bottom lid... the bottom is the heavy gold bottom from the 50's-60's but the top of the ebay can looks like a 70's lid. here are more pictures of my tab. (I would not have listed it on ebay except it is in such good condition for this metallic can) (I will look in my inventory for a flat top similar to the tab)beerhunter14 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 9:12 pmWell, it seem to me that the brewing company ran out of pull tab and they have to use different lid so it classified a flat top during the 1970's My can appear to be air sealed, I find it a little strange look a little different lid? and NO I did not buy off from ebay. Proof that ultra clean cans continue to bring exponentially more money than average on grade examples.
I thought my $247 number was very competitive for this can. Bidding blew by me like I was standing still!!

No, your bid of $247 was spot on. The problem is the glass is worth another $200.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 9:40 pm Proof that ultra clean cans continue to bring exponentially more money than average on grade examples.
