Nothing surprises me anymore... the seller has been listing some nice tabs, he also did very well selling a re-lidded King's at nearly $850 and a few other high dollar re-lids and rolled cans. Either the one's winning these are absolutely clueless about the cans and their bidding, or they aren't following through on the purchase. Don't they know Continental Can did not use fan style tab lids and what rolled cans look like? Luckily the Top Hat appears legit, but at $1,200+ it ought to berenokenn wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 10:23 pmI think there is going to be buyer's remorse. Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
It looks like 33-8 in the USBC Tab book with a $5 value.
Is it air filled or opened on the bottom with a nail hole or other small opening?
Why is it "Not in MI-Cans"? No explanation from seller about this in the description.
Only one bid at the opening price of $169.27 (a nice round number).
Bidder is active, 114 bids on 44 items with 18 sellers in last 30 days.
I'd like one, anybody have one exactly like it for 5 bucks?
What should it go for??

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I got one exactly like it, minus tab intact. cost me a lot less then this one. You'd have to be a diehard Altes collector like myself to bid that much & I wouldn't even bid that much. BUT, I do know of only 1 person that would, maybe 2oldindiapaleale wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2018 7:45 pmIt looks like 33-8 in the USBC Tab book with a $5 value.

Ridiculous. Even if it's from Houston, which it doesn't appear to be, it's a $25-50 can at most.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I suppose if somebody wants the absolute best for any can in their collection, it would be hard to be the Ale and that drove the price up. Personally, I would rather pay half the price (or less) and get something that is still beautiful.
Nice Centlivre can by the way.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
As a reminder.....I'm trying to keep a record of ebay sales over the years......you can obviously keep searching ebay, but I think I'm starting to generate a pretty good database of cans sold on ebay in the reference section. as to the old crowns.....here's what I have:oldcrowncollector wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 10:49 am Ale Ended at $310.00

Everybody, please add cans you would like to see documented on that thread.....for example the two old crowns you pointed out OCC....add them in there and then they won't go away when ebay nukes them.

I've seen this happen before with Dan. Doesn't sell on his site, lists it on ebay, sells for noticeably more (of course, sometimes the reverse happens).clevelandcanman11389 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:09 am buckeye black letter flat top:

I also find it interesting when a can with a price sticker on the bottom goes for significantly over the sticker price.
Lot of eyeballs on ebay!!
