Holy smokes! What would mine be worth? A scratch on the front, otherwise as nice as they come. I thought it was a $300-400 can.

It wasn't an ebay auction but seems like it belongs here. I can't see the final bids this morning but a Century FBIR went for at least $2300 in the Morean auction last night. With the buyers premium that is nearly $2600 depending on how you pay. He does really well with these auctions, shows how much some good marketing can do, I know I had his mailer laying on my desk for a couple of weeks.

Other notable high bids I remember:

Indianhead Ale LP $1950 - I had hoped the paint chip would keep this one lower
Indian Queen J Spout $8000
Sun Valley HP $1350
Blackhawk Old Lager HP $1200

Remarkable auction.

9200 for an Indian Queen. Just a little less than I paid for the truck I drive everyday.

3565 for a 1940's 7-11. Just think, you could have bought into the franchise for that amount in 1940.

Glad to see this kind of money in the hobby.

How did the Coors can with scratches on the front go higher than the early American Can Co test can? That's a head scratcher.

Did you look at all the photos of the Can Co. presentation can? It sold for three times what I thought it would go for.

Ah, I see what you mean, Marc. I had not looked at all the photos. Still, $2530 for a Coors waterfall can with scratches through the word Coors is nuts.

Description said Dent was removed from the Coors. The Scratches were probably where the Dent was. Looked like a $500 can to me?

Although the auction site says "circa late 1940s" it is not an IRTP can and actually either a late 50s or a 1960s can, without a bottom. Definitely one of the tougher cans out of Hammonton.

I just saw a Schlitz ML 8oz aluminum can with a upc advertised as a flat top. The picture showed the top. What is that all about? Avoid the seller at all costs?

Is it possible to re-lid an aluminum can?
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Maybe it was sent to Oregon where they banned pull tabs in the 70's? LEON.

The Schlitz ML is not an Oregon Soft top for a few reasons.....Oregon soft tops would:
1. Have no UPC
2 Have the word STOUT on the label above Malt Liquor
3. Have a refund statement on the lid.

Probably just a factory mistake where they skipped the stamping of the pull tab. I have several cans like that. Not officially produced Oregon Bottle Bill soft tops but soft tops none the less. It is probably a legit production can but just a production mistake.

Obviously I know that Kent Ales are popular, and they're not easy to find. But they're also not "rare" as there have been several finds of them over the last few years. Doesn't $100+ sound like too much for this one??

Shocked me too.

If can prices are increasing like going up stairs, ongrade tough tabs are riding an elevator with the up arrow firmly pressed.

Have to refute Rand's claim that there is no such thing as a "non-smirking" Tamo' Shanter Ale.......it's as obvious as the non-smile on his face......can in the middle is the winner......

I think there is going to be buyer's remorse. Looking at the bidding they put huge bids on snipes and are going to pay for it, or not.
