Anybody have any thoughts or knowledge on why Krueger never canned Boar's Beer or Ale that was advertised all over Virginia and North Carolina from 1938-1939? Clearly Krueger didn't can every brand but this seems like it would have made for an interesting can.....The Virginia ads focused on a $0.10 beer bottle.......Interesting tidbit in one ad that also says it was "bottled in the south"........

(not meaning to hijack your thread )
Is the Boar associated with ale the way the Goat is with bock beer?
My Henry Weinhard's Blue Boar Ale cans are what made me wonder.
Are there any other animals associated with a style of brew?
Eric

This year at Spring Thaw, if you happen to go to Jeff's open house, don't be afraid to check out ALL the rooms. There are goodies to be found everywhere. This sign is hanging above one of the showers (notice the shower head on the left).
I shall leave no cone unturned!!

Keith, I know they bottled/canned in Wilmington, De but don't believe that is in the South. Maybe they contracted with a bottler? But that info is usually in the ad. Dunno?

Re: Boar's Beer and Ale by Krueger
I have been meaning to start a thread about a similar idea.... whether the animal-related brand names were meant to imply a strong, high alcohol brew: like Mule's Head, Ox Cart, 12 Horse Ale etc...
I'm constantly finding good cans... in my mailbox. *** My third year of waging Schlitzkrieg on the Flint Hills of Kansas ***

Re: Boar's Beer and Ale by Krueger
Thanks for the follow-up....interesting that none of the ads seemed to indicate exactly where it was bottled....also interesting the different label that was in one of the ads (click first ad to see the different label)..Boar's Beer and Ale was bottled from 1935-1939 and even with the label above would have still made for an interesting can.....
