Keith Belcher's auction at the blue gray

#1

Post by Daev Larrazolo »

I have my plane ticket set to go to the blue gray. I suggest you guys go or by the catalog of the auction items. This is the finest catalog I've ever seen, much better than any other auctions catalog it is as thick as the BCCA roster. This will be a heck of a reference to write in the prices of the items that sell.

So, under the "Gentleman's Disagreement" gag order, we cannot mention or talk about any eBay listings. Meanwhile, this auction is being openly discussed and PROMOTED by Rusty Bunch Officers and members. Ironic? Inconsistent? Hypocritical? All the above?

Greg....I'm not sure how we could prevent a public auction that is being advertised by one of the Chapters sponsors and made aware as part of the Blue Grey show registration can be made off limits......Anybody that visits Dan Morean's Breweriana.com page would see all the information for this public event.......I'm not sure how that can be called Ironic? Inconsistent? Hypocritical? All the above?....it would be a little hard to hide it.......

I also think there is a world of difference between discussing an entire auction event vs. individual listings on Ebay. If people start talking about individual items in the auction, then there might be something to talk about.

The exact same thing could be said for "public" eBay listings on eBay's "public" website. However, we are expressly prohibited from mentioning or discussing THAT public information. Therein lies the hypocrisy and irony of your inconsistent stance.

I think there is a difference between gentleman's agreement and expressly not be allowed to talk about it. I don't remember needing to vote on it. I was NOT a big fan of keeping quiet about some small towns auction that had brewerianna. In fact, if I knew about one right now I would post it. All that talk about big beer brotherhood is from days gone by. Sad !!

UH-OH. Looks like the KB auction has made its way to EBAY and can no longer be discussed here . . .

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Travis-Kuebler- ... Sw-0xYh26Z

What a predicament!

Nothing. That was a separate, unrelated question in the MEMBERS ONLY section. Similar to the Grenke auction, I'll probably wait for the catalog price to be reduced 50% or more (I got the Grenke catalog for FREE), or just view the online auction listings once they're posted. Thanks for caring.

NO ONE GETS IT. The "Gentleman's Disagreement" gag order is ridiculously stupid and unnecessary to begin with. Moreover, it has been applied (or not applied, as the case may be) in a totally haphazard and inconsistent manner. It's time to rescind this ill-advised rule and put an end to the confusion.

No such gag order exists. You want to post about an auction have at it, but a bunch of members might not like it too much.

Glad we're back on topic now. LOL!!

Received my catalog yesterday. Beautifully done. Very high quality with some great information. Definitely some can and sign porn in this one.

Online is great and all, but sometimes you (I) just want to kick back and flip through some paper. Given the cost of daily life these days... well worth the $, IMHO.

Dear Chicagocans:

It's not a rule that has been made or can be rescinded. If it were, there would be no confusion.

Since this auction was advertised on here as well as a dealers site, I have no idea why the eBay discussion is even remotely applicable. If something is advertised on multiple sites at multiple times and one them happens to be eBay that doesn't mean we can't discuss it. eBay gag/non-gag rule does not supersede or apply to everything on the Internet and therefore has absolutely no place here. This is a lot of complaining about nothing in my opinion.
