Beer can mug collection

#1

Post by bradflinders »

I started back in to these a couple of months ago. About 14 years ago I had quite the mug collection...several tough cones, 4 different Krueger OI's and so on. I haven't seen too many of these for sale lately, most are having the handle removed and lids put on. That wasn't a problem back when I started. Below is a photo of what I've been able to find so far and a photo of one mug that I used to have that I'll probably never find again. Extremely rare!!

I always take one to parties.....great conversation starter with non beer can folks. Pour my beer into them or fill from the keg and drink out of it... Everyone loves the old labels.Image

That is the one. It was actually $9.99 but the photo was fuzzy and I didn't know it was WFIR until I received the can! The can was not on the Lewendowski's composite list of OD and WFIR cans so when I sent them a photo they about ****! They made me one hell of an offer that I couldn't refuse. i have no idea where the can resides. I heard later that a flat sheet of the can was found making 2 known.

Kenny Ostrow had a great set of miniature tiny little mugs made out of a single Krueger beer baldie (I believe it was a baldie). There were three of them or so, made with lids like a tankard and I think a pitcher. Very neat. Don't know if he still has them for sale.

That price is spot on. Last year, before I started collecting the mugs I had 2 of these in similar condition. One sold for $55 and the other for $65. PM me a paypal address and I'll get payment to you ASAP

Senator,

Followed your link to an album of 1,000 pictures. (It's down loadable by the way - 94.5 MB!) Was this the basis of your trucking expedition to Fort Wayne?

Looking at the the collection of pictures, I found the two mugs pictured below. The first one is what appears to be a commemorative can I've never seen. Anyone have any guesses as to what it is?
IMG_4788.jpg
The second one is a Sapporo (from Japan?) with handles and screw tops. I would guess 2 liters?
