Re: Schlitz Longview cans
I like that can with the star. Is that a Texas thing? Meaning, I've seen Busch, Bud and Miller cans with Texas emblems on them, indicating that they are brewed in Texas.

Re: Schlitz Longview cans
Could well be. Offhand, I think the Old Milwaukee Texas cans date back to the Strohs days.
It all depends on whether you're buying or selling.

Yes. Stars are a common theme on all things Texan as we are known as the Lone Star State.
However, as far as Schlitz cans go, the Jaycees can is the only one that identifies the brewery with a star. All others use the dot.

Re: Schlitz Longview cans
Here is my 10 oz. flat from Longview that I have had for many years. Years ago this can was seen every so often at can shows. Sorry for the crappy pictures, used my phone, not my camera.

Re: Schlitz Longview cans
Awesome can Tom. It comes in both a flat and a tab.

Re: Schlitz Longview cans
I have found the ten ounce Longview can a few times here in Louisiana, always a flat, never a tab. It is interesting that the can lists the 1960 copyright, but the brewery didn't open in Longview until '66 or so.
I'm dumping Jax flats-- it's a gas gas gas!
