This may be more of a rhetorical question, but....
I am once again traveling through some International airports on my way back to the USA and as usual the Duty Free shops sell every kind of booze you would want but I have never seen one selling BEER. Does this have to do with some kind of International trade and tax agreements or something? Or do they all just figure nobody is going to buy beer there when they can just get it at home?
If they sold beer in cans, especially individually, I would probably buy something. As it is I never buy anything from them.
If you buy a beer at one of the small food vendors in the airport you have to empty the can and then hope it doesn't get crushed in your carry-on bag.
I tried to get out of Korea with some full BUD cans purchased after security and they confiscated them all at the gate.

How come you can't buy beer at Duty Free shops?

Re: How come you can't buy beer at Duty Free shops?
I have seen some beer in duty free shops in the past, but it was usually "hidden" near the cheese and sausage and very limited selection. I suppose the profit margin is pretty low compared to a liter of Jack?
Expired once again in Portland ...

Don't do international travel but looked up the local stores (Detroit/Windsor.)
This page has the links to both stores:
http://www.ambassadorbridge.com/DutyFree/DutyFree.aspx
This page is from the Detroit store:
http://ammexdutyfree.com/products/beer-wine/
This page is from the Windsor store:
http://www.ambassadordutyfree.com/specials.html
Don't know if that'll help or confuse...

Many (25 or so) years ago, the duty free shop where you crossed over from Cornwall, Ont. to NY had a warm stack of Old Vienna, that was about it.
