WD40?
What is the benefit of using wd40 on cans? Is it to keep the glossy look? Thanks in advance.

Re: WD40?
I would never put that stuff on a can. I don't think you can ever get it off?

Re: WD40?
I'm talking about putting them on dumpers. I had a black lined Frankenmuth cone I sent Chris and he put it in WD40. It cant be bad for it.

Re: WD40?
Some swear by it and others won't use it. There have been quite a few posts on this. Search on WD40 and you will find them.

When I bought the last of the 16 ounce Krueger cones from Woody he said he put WD-40 on them and it brought the color out.

Re: WD40?
I did contact the company that makes WD40 and they said it was totally safe for painted surfaces.

Re: WD40?
I coat/clean ALL my cans, inside and out, with WD-40. At all condition/price levels.
What is one of the, if not the, number one enemy of our cans? Moisture. The WD actually stands for Water Displacement. It repels moisture. It prevents corrosion. Personally, I've never experienced any issues with paint damage or loss.
Good stuff IMHO.

Re: WD40?
My crappy Kansas dumpers will re-rust within minutes after they're out of acid and rinsed if i don't WD-40 them. I have the slipperiest 'dumped it myself' shelves anywhere, I'll bet
I'm constantly finding good cans... in my mailbox. *** My third year of waging Schlitzkrieg on the Flint Hills of Kansas ***

Re: WD40?
WD 40 is manufactured on the beautiful shores of the mighty Yahara River in Stoughton,WI. The name can be attributed to the aerospace company developing an anti- 'warhead deterioration'(or WD) formula that took 40 attempts to get it right. This is the history lesson given to new employees. I don't think anyone collects rusty warheads.

Re: WD40?
Those cans look great soaked. What can't this stuff do? I've called it Walleye Detector for years with many 40+ walleye days under my belt. I spray it on a bare jig-it works. Bjorn

Re: WD40?
indeed - its been about 6 or 7 years now - I believe - (Im referring to Don Raymond) - I used to find his long rambly phone calls sort of annoying -but - now I miss them - he was an amusing guy.......
I also wish I had him show me where the rest of the Star Banner Ales are - he said he hid a ton more in a rock wall next to the dump.....
