During the recent beer can show in Orlando (yeah I was there although somebody saw it fit not to include me in the photos) some fellow collectors asked me to find out the status of fellow collector John Kizis. John is an old school collector and has many friends within the beer can collecting hobby and is most known for driving around in that Buick Roadster packed with cases and cases of full beer cans. I was finally able to reach him on phone and I was glad to hear that he was doing well and seemed to be in good spirits. He was in the hospital during the holidays and recently got released just a few weeks ago. He is doing well and getting about. So well it seems that he even mentioned that he would likely be driving to the Blue and Gray in a few weeks...after he picks up plenty of craft cans I'm sure. He was sorry he missed the Orlando show but he wasn't recovered enough to make it to the show. His phone had been turned off because he couldn't get to his mail and pay the bill because he was laid up. He was happy to hear others had asked about his status. I've asked him if I could provide his number to anybody that might be interested. He said it would not be a problem but rather than blast his number out I'd ask that you e-mail or IM me and I'll pass it along. If you'd like to give John a call and say "Hi" drop me a line at keithker@hotmail or IM me here on the board. He said he'd love to hear from old friends.
John has fallen numerous times in the last few months and even confided in me that he had been lying on the floor for nearly 48 hours after a disastrous fall. Sadly he is all the way up in the Orlando area or I'd check in on him more often. He always has great stories and will tell you some of the best beer can collecting tales.

Re: The status of fellow collector John Kizis
John is a good guy in the hobby. Always pick up at least few cans from him at B-G and CANvention, and every time with a story or two thrown in for free.
Glad to hear he's improving.

Anyone got a photo of Kizis' famous "canmobile"?

Re: The status of fellow collector John Kizis
John is quite a character in the hobby and has driven many a hotel staff employee crazy with his "requests". I love talking with John at shows and he carried the flame of current cans when a lot of the collectors were concentrating on older cans. Now he is the go-to guy for the new craft cans and loves to trade full new issues which is great. I hope John's health stays good and he can keep joining us in the years ahead. He really is a one of a kind.
