Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Seen some of those at Frankenmuth. The authentic cone has to be way rarer than that box...IMHO

I wonder if the 41' on the bottom of the phoenix box is a date?

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Since the Phoenix is a prewar Bulb Top & Bulb tops were made approximately 1940-41 I would guess good chance the 41 is the date. LEON.

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Very cool Cremo box Roy! Gotta love boxes that had rare labels in them. This one is a label I've never seen...

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Leon may have seen more cone than boxes but, I have not. I have seen at least 10-15 of those boxes going back to 1988, when I joined the club.

I agree. Cool boxes.
Dan, the graphics on that Schlitz box are outstanding. Just love that lake scene.

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Here's a Falls City box I got from Rand in a trade. Marked IRTP and has a war bonds seal on the bottom.
I'd say cardboard pieces are rare in numbers as they don't hold up as well as cans or bottles over time.

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
I'm not so sure. Many of those long neck case boxes are heavy and sturdy. People recognized long ago how handy they were and have been storing stuff in them ever since. I don't know how many times I have been at a garage sale or in a friend or relative's garage and seen a beer box used for storage.fallscityfreak wrote:I'd say cardboard pieces are rare in numbers as they don't hold up as well as cans or bottles over time.
The bottles or cans they were designed to carry have long since been thrown away, but the boxes survive in much higher numbers.

Re: North Bay Cremo Cardboard Case
Not a very good picture but Woody could post a better one. This one once held the All-Malt Quart Cones.
It came from Woody's find years ago and came to visit me for many years until I sold off some Croft stuff so it went back home.
