Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
To my astonishment I picked up two new Crowntainers for my collection last week. Uncleaned pictures attached. The Red Gluek's is the last, I think, of the 7 variations I needed of this can. The Griesedieck, to my udder shock, was an EBay Buy It Now that I thought I would never find; the 5% alcohol statement variation. At 275 Crowntainers now, plodding towards the elusive 300.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
I get it on the variations. I was never a big variation collector until I decided to collect crowntainers. If you don't collect variations in the crowntainer area, your collection will max out around 150 cans I think, roughly.

Somewhat starting a new side collection of what I believe are oddball brands with cool graphics; recently picked up these 3:

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
This Krueger can arrived today, compliments of a fellow RB member after he plucked it from the advertise section but then had another priority come up.
This is the unusual variation that started out as the Withdrawn Free version but now covered over with the standard IRTP statement. As you can see, the covering “box” is clearly visible in the 2nd pic and was added after the fact
I dumped this same variation yrs ago and rubbed the box to reveal the WF statement as you can see in the 3rd pic
I like it!!

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Cool! That is a very interesting variation.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Two Zip only cans. In that, according to the USBC I and II, these cans were only offered as zip tops. Not as ring pull tabs, not as flats.
Oertels can showed up on Tuesday. The Rainier can showed up on Thursday. So, if you average them together... both were delivered on WEDNESDAY.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Just got the one on the left in the mail today, it's also I believe my first actual pictured USBC can. One more variation to go, there is actually a dumper of it on ebay but we wants waaay to much for it and I don't like holes in my cans.
