That is an exceptionally tough can to find clean. Mine is 1- and is the best I have been able to find. Congrats!

Yes! Super boring can otherwise. Schell's Brewing Co. came out with 80 or so collector cans in the 80s to early 90s but very few crimped steel cans. They transitioned from SS right to aluminum. I don't have any dates for when this happened. There's about a dozen of the commemorative cans that came in both SS and CS. I have 7 of the CS ones and find one roughly every 2-3 years since I started looking for them.

Guy just said that he was helping the owner of the theatre in 1992 who said that he could keep it after he found it. He said it was pretty cool that the rafter was very dusty except for where he picked up the can as it left a clear circle amongst all the dust.

I already had the more common Fox Deluxe case from Grand Rapids that held 24 twelve ounce bottles. I always knew this case must have existed but I had never seen one before. This case was introduced during WWII when people were being encouraged to buy their beer in half gallon bottles so less caps would be needed which saved metal for the war effort. This case holds 6 half gallon bottles.

This case was on ebay. I made a best offer to the seller which she accepted. To make a very long story short, there was a problem with her PayPal account, she was new to selling online, and she was suspicious of me. Despite that, patience won out and I finally got the case. I'm really happy I got it and I hope my next purchase on ebay goes much smoother.

FoxDeluxe.jpg
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Great cans. Including your Altes above, I only know of 4 examples with the alcohol statement. I suspect a 5th in an advanced Michigan collection. How many of the Fort Pitt examples are there?

Thanks for the comments. The Altes can was an EBay purchase that originally was posted without the sides of the can shown. I asked the seller to post the sides. Never expected to see this can. I did not know it was so rare. I did know I needed it for my Crowntainers only collection. As for the Fort Pitt, I didn’t even know a 3.2% variation existed. Saw it at 3:30 am as a Buy It Now. It looked far worse but cleaned up wonderfully. Not a prefect can, but I am very happy having added it to the collection. As for rarity, Based on speaking with a few people, it appears that there are very few examples known. At least 1 more for sure that sold on the Morean site over 10 years ago; I am told. Would love feedback from other collectors if they know of others.
