Think I'll check it out. Been years since I've attended a show. I think the last one I went to in that area was on Patton Ave. can you give me some insight on what to expect? How many attended last year?

Seems like there were at least 20 collectors last year, maybe more, and some really nice stuff showed up. We used up both sections of the conference center.

I've gotten to where I really enjoy this show. Come in Friday night and meet whoever's there - hospitality room will have a keg, sodas, and usually a variety of munchies. The hotel's affordable, but nice.

Is that next weekend?!? Melanie and I usually go to that show. There is a decent Mexican resteraunt in the lobby that is great for a quick meal after drinking in the hospitality room all night. Good show with a decent mix of stuff. Great people. We have won the grand prize in the raffle 2 out if the last 3 years so it has been awesome for us. I was planning to drive to Videlia, GA to pick up a huge Narragansett double sided sign next weekend but may have to rethink that plan......

Sounds good. I will plan on bringing a couple beer cones and several beer flats most are 1/1+ condition. I am interested in trading for soda cones and flats in grade 1 or better so if anyone has any please bring them with you.

Beautiful picture.

I honestly can't remember from past years if there has been much soda stuff at Hendersonville. But one way or another, it'll be worthwhile for you to get acquainted with some of the regional collectors, many of whom are on this board. Look forward to meeting you.

Either way I'm gonna check it out. I collected beer for years and still collect natty boh stuff since. Hopefully my request for collectors to bring their soda will bring some cans out that normally wouldn't show up. I also have a couple 1000 70's cans any interest in those? Foreigns? Or is this mainly a flat and cone event?

I will be there, as well as former RB Prez Neal Davenport and Atlantic Chapter Prez Ken Jones, I heard former BCCA Prez Robert Fondren and hopefully BCCA Board of Director Jim Wolf may be there? In fact, Tom Fay should be there! Why not? Also former RB editor Kevin Dooley is usually there. As well as a bunch of other really cool collectors! Any Bama Cannas gonna be there? HiJax? Scott Kennedy? Bueller?

Unfortunately, I won't be there this year. Just found out that I'm having major back surgery in a couple of weeks. I can barely make it across the room right now. When the doctor describes your back as a train wreck you know your in trouble. Have fun without me.

It doesn't look like work is going to cooperate and let me attend the show this year. I am VERY bummed out! On the bright side, someone else will have a chance to win the grand prize in the drawing this year without Melanie and her good luck being there.......

Fun as always, but lightly attended this time. Crew consisted of Letostak, Fondren, Terry, Roos, Wolfe, Uncle Daev, Hoglund, Plant, Davenport, Jones, and one Mr. Smith (new arrival from Michigan who I hadn't seen in donkey's years). Notable absences included you and the missus, McCluskey, Wolf, Dooley, and whoever else it took to fill up the second room. We all did Friday night in the Mexican restaurant. I heard the hospitality festivities going on next to my room afterward, but my seasonal sinus/throat disaster kicked in so I called it an early night. I'm told the rest of 'em lasted until about midnight.

Speaking for myself, I had a good show. My main goal was to get photos of some tough 14s for a project I'm putting together. Robert and Ted came through in fine style and I got most of what I needed (still looking for photos of four cans I can think of, but may only be able to get two). I managed to move a few goodies, picked up four cheapies and even made a trade with Cam for a semi-modern 14oz can I'd never seen before! He purchased and consumed it himself - no questions about sales region or vintage on this one.

The Ironguts roundtable was populated by Paul, Daev and myself, and video-documented by that gutless voyeur Neil. (I imagine he knows I'm joking.) We tried on an Eastside "No Opener Needed" and one of those gold and blue Heidelberg cans from Atlanta. (?) So many chunks in the former, we could have used a sieve. Daev and Paul gave it thumbs down, and I believe my only comment was that I've had worse...but it definitely wasn't very good. The Heidelburg opened without even a trace of carbonation and went down like stagnant river water. No real flavor that I could discern, but it kicked Daev right in the 'nads. He took a whiff, made faces and said whatever he said, and I don't think he even tried it. Quite a wuss for a drill sergeant. :smt016 Yeah, it was nasty.

Even though the turnout was small, it was a good event as always. Warren said it'll be on again next year, so plan to come!

scott,
come up to the auburn show! judy and i are going to drive up thursday. and drive out of there early sunday morning. sounds like a super turn out. something like 15 rooms on thursday night 60 rooms on friday night and 30+ on saturday night.

( we are going to try to get a little dumping in saturday!)

AG
I have had the great privilege of dumping with 68 current and former Rusty Bunch members, to date. Got to hit the woods of Virginia with Charlie Smigo recently.
