Re: That's a lot of yellow Johnny Pfeiffer cans
I'm no Johnny expert but this appears to be a variation you're looking for. Splotchy look is reflection on the can wrap, blue pants black shoes and looks like a brown outline.

Kind of looks like the brown outline can to me. Do you have a black outline to compare it to?

It looks brown to me, closer to the factory than the flute but with my old eyes it could be purple. Here it is with no can wrap and good light.

I agree without the can wrap it looks brown to me. Would you like to re-home it to Florida?renokenn wrote:It looks brown to me, closer to the factory than the flute but with my old eyes it could be purple. Here it is with no can wrap and good light.

The 5 toothed seam is the first domestic Pfeiffers can put out after the OD, then went to straight seam.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Re: That's a lot of yellow Johnny Pfeiffer cans
You mentioned and show a Florida lid. Are there also variations of the Florida lid? What about other state tax lids such as Ohio with alcohol content variations, or for that matter any other vanity lids?

Re: That's a lot of yellow Johnny Pfeiffer cans
This is the Florida lid. Don't usually consider lids a difference, but since I live here I liked it. Since I picked this one up I have seen a couple others with this lid. Also a different yellow showed up on ebay, might have been IRTP.

Re: That's a lot of yellow Johnny Pfeiffer cans
I believe there's another variation not mentioned in your list. It was profiled in the BCCA mag a while back where Johnny has blue soled feet. If I recall correctly there weren't that many known??

Only had 21 documented but includes some tough variations as well as the bank heist cans Keith mentioned.

One thing that would be helpful is to identify which variation of Pfeiffers might have the possibility of having certain other cans underneath. For that the canning code is needed.
For instance, it is known that Fox Deluxe Bock have been found under the Pfeiffers white pants/white shoe cans but what is the canning code?
The same goes for the multitude of brands found beneath the Blue Pants/Black Shoes cans. They will certainly ALL be Keglined cans but a list of the canning codes will be needed. Example: 68-A :<•>: or 68-A 7 (The 7 denoting the "hangman's gallows). or 68-A III7 (denoting the number of hash marks under the gallows symbol)

I've never seen a pink pants Pfeiffer. Still will need the canning code of that variation.

I get what you mean. White pants/dark pink face, cuffs, and legs/white shoes. "Blushing Johnny" is what I think Wheaton or Randy coined for that variation.
The one on my shelf has 68-A I7 symbol but isn't a paint over.
