Other than the 2 Kruegers I have no idea how high the others would go for.

I actually think the 2 Kruegers are the "weak sisters" in the lot, even though they are the first (pre-tax) pair, and even though I'm a Krueger collector...

Re: What would these can sell for as a group? Poll
My opinion is the 2 non-tax Kruegers, being all original, are actually the strongest of the bunch. They are the Lilek Kruegers. That Golden Rod, being rolled, is less desirable to me. For me, there is a definite ceiling to the value of a rolled can. The NYers don't have the NY lids, if I'm not mistaken, and may be rolled? So those are worth less than the all original set. I believe the Strouds are not as nice as the set in Virginia, which once belonged to McCoy. All great cans, but some have mitigating characteristics.kruegerbock wrote:I actually think the 2 Kruegers are the "weak sisters" in the lot, even though they are the first (pre-tax) pair, and even though I'm a Krueger collector...
But, hey, what do I know?

I have held each and every one of those beauts (like yutes, 'cept different) in my hot little hands.
" If I sold them, they wouldn't move, and if Everyone else sold them, 150,000+"........seems like I have seen this before, too. Funny stuff.

I came up with a $139,000 figure so I voted on the $125,000 option. I know nothing about cans!

Did they sell at that price or was that just the asking price? I guessed in the 125k bracket also.

I believe they did sell at that price. That was the price quoted to me when I inquired about them and they sold shortly after.Mike S wrote:Rand wrote:If you look at the link I provided you will see that the Strouds were going for $18K on Morean's site as a pair

The former McCoy set is nicer overall than the current set in question IMO. What you cannot see in the group pic is some humidity issues on the other side of the Beer, and some minor scratchiness on the Ale. They are still good cans, I just consider them lesser than the former McCoy examples.

Re: What would these can sell for as a group? Poll
There is one shown in the May/June 1985 issue of BC&BC but I don't think it was ever verified. Also looking at it and the picture from 1933 Brewer's News I see differences.Daev Larrazolo wrote:so have any of the original 2000 test market Kruegers been found?

Re: What would these can sell for as a group? Poll
The question was "What would they sell for"? Not what Dan Morean placed on them. CopperheadRand wrote:If you look at the link I provided you will see that the Strouds were going for $18K on Morean's site as a pair
