No luck as in "no reply" or no luck as in he did not have them?

I would love to see a Perone. Even better a Perone variation.

I wonder why the Grand Rapids Fox Deluxe went for comparatively little. Just because of the tape mark?

Wow, right? Mr. Wheaton, were you thinking of the Fox Deluxe Grand Rapids NON-IRTP that BCM and I got just before this all blew up? (Very sharp, up now on my site) Apparently a different find, completely unrelated except that both sellers are in NJ and Seller #1 used a chunk of the money we gave him in order to get into the sheet business; now he's shopping around the ones he bought from Seller #2.

No need to get paranoid over this, these ebay sellers are just unfamiliar with repeat customers who watch the market closely. They have no idea about the shenanigans we've seen in this hobby, although we're all guilty of making too many assumptions here.

As for other buyers worried about damage in transit, I may be able to help. BCM and I won a couple of these and I may pick them up in person on my way to Maine in a couple weeks. Anyone who wants shuttle service or will pay actual cost for mailing in a flat rate box lined with plywood and paper, just ask. These quarts are too nice to F up. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy gets some angry feedback and paypal abuse over this.

I've seen cans with corners trimmed get rolled, and they turn out okay. There will be a gap at the seam though, unless Art knows some magic trick I'm not familiar with. If you want a 12 oz cone with trimmed corners head over to my website. I wasn't really trying to buy this but had a brain fart at the time and thought it was something that it wasn't. Oh well.

He should still be able to roll it. If the sheet is the correct width, it could still be rolled as is. Small triangular holes at the top and bottom of the seam will result depending on how much of the corners were clipped.

Second option, he can trim the sheet back towards the litho print line, then do an inserted seam. Just make sure to have the proper donor can... to me nothing worse than seeing a roll job with a seam inserted from a completely different can company. I've seen too many flats and tabs with the wrong seam inserted for the canning company, or worse yet, the wrong lids for the can.

He can insert a seam? I wasn't bidding on some of the sheets because they didn't have the seam tabs on them and were short. Does he solder a seam on?

Give Art a call to confirm, but he does show a Falls Velvet short sheet on his site where he rolled it and the seam was inserted. I only assumed he did the seam insertion.
The pictures are under Can Talk, Repair examples.... typically the seam is joined right up against the lithograph on both sides with a hooked seam on the inside, and I don't think it would be soldered on the outside due to the risk of getting solder on the litho. He may solder the inside hooked joint. Might want to ask.

Looked like he switched to common pint cans, then wham another rare beauty. This time a 12oz. cone top. Leisy's Light - sharp looking. I have never seen this one - not in any of my books. Corners are trimmed pretty good, but too cool!

I personally in no way buy the 9/11 angle. Someone found a big old stack of sheets. A few years ago a female non-collector found a huge and varied stack of Grace Bros. sheets at a flea market and she made a nice sum selling them on E-Bay.

"Are you on his payroll, just asking."
Ha ha. It has occurred to me that this guy could have benefited by seeking the advice & marketing savvy of any number of Rusty Bunch members. First of all, the canvention is starting. Why not display these sheets at a table for thousands of collectors to drool over and create a little buying frenzy. Inform buyers that there's only one available if that's the case, so they can be assurred of a cans rarity. Buyers are surely more cautious if all they've ever seen was a photograph. Some of these sheets are so rare that the pool of potential buyers willing to drop that much cash on a can is pretty small. Why dump them all on the market at once? Sell a few, then wait a week or two to let your buyers reload/secure funding so they can bid again. Why E-Bay? The timings bad too - must not tap into canvention fund. Why not wait until closer to the holidays - maybe Rusty Claus could get me one for Christmas that way. I'm convinced the guys not too bright & the 9/11 thing lends no credibility to his story. On the other hand, he's sold over $50,000 in can sheets in just over a week....amazing. Wonder what he paid for the lot of them? What was he asking for the lot when he was shopping them around to dealers?

I've asked him many times to disclose how many duplicates he has as it would effect value. He only replies that he is too busy to look but finds time to keep listing. I'm sure there are many duplicates. Collecting unrolled sheets, most of my finds have many duplicates. It would be unusual to find only one of each. It really disturbs me that he bids them up as another bidder. Guess he holds the cards if you want to bid. I think not disclosing when asked is dishonest. If a buyer doesn't ask that's his fault. Maybe all RB's reading this should bomb him with the question, "how many" see if he'll answer anyone.

Q: Is this the only White Cap sheet you have? Do you have any other quart sheets for sale or trade? Aug-19-14
A: I think it is the only one I have - I just listed 3 more Quart sheets

You sell a can for $10,000 and then claim your not sure if you have any more or not. BS!! He's just so busy,…. how could anyone find the time to look for more cheap *** 10,000 dollar cans?
