I found a small Honey hole of sodas recently. Included was a black Coke can.
Does anyone have any info on it? Anyone else have one?

Re: Black Coke Can... small find of sodas
Could the Coke be a water can?
Red turns to black under certain conditions when underwater for an extended period of time. I have a couple of Carling Black Labels that red turned black with no other really noticeable deterioration from being submerged for a long time. (no rust) I am guessing it is due to a lack of oxygen and the presence of hydrogen sulfide at the bottom of some bodies of water? ....they don't rust they just change color.

Re: Black Coke Can... small find of sodas
I have seen the black Coke can quite bit in the last months. I think it's just a misprint, color test.

Re: Black Coke Can... small find of sodas
The cans actually come from a hoard that belonged to a friend of my father.
Dad worked at Am Can so I have been hunting down collectors who he traded with and helped. Dad gave a lot of canning plant cans away in his trades because he had a lot. Now that most of our collection was sold off in his estate, I have been avidly searching for the cans to get some back.
The Black Coke is air sealed and perfect so its definitely not a water can.
I was very very surprised at the cool soda cans I found. Some I had never seen before even at shows. I was familiar with the Disco Near Beer but not the sodas.
The friend was a dumping buddy as well and joined dad and I in a few exploits back in the 70s. It was nice to see some of those cans again.
A word to the wise for collectors who want to put their collections in their will.
DONOT put a family member in charge of the estate unless you are beyond sure there is not a single grievance between the siblings. My father even gifted me the beer cans before he passed away and the family member in charge of the estate still managed to sell most of the collection.
I even offered the coins and silver in trade but the estate executor sold the cans off first.
To be fair, I did manage to save the Waukesha Cans and some traders but when you collect as long as dad and I did together, there should have been no doubt.
If you have any of the canning plant cans, I would be interested in trade as well. I also collect Waukesha cans and Bock cans.
For those who don't know my story, 2008 was a bad year. I lost dad, my job, got married and had a kid all in the same year. I managed to keep my house and collecting beer cans only by focusing on a particular group of cans and if I found a collection, putting the sales back into the collection. I even managed to create a good group of guys that meet up at the end of each month locally like dad and I did in the 70s at each others houses.
Sorry to ramble...
