Paul Newman drinks a couple of brightly colored flat tops , one with Robert Wagner, in a couple of scenes in the film "Harper". Also you can see what appears to be a side of mountain dump in one ariel shot.

My son & I are watching "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock. About half way thru the movie there is a scene in a restaurant/bar of the small California town just before the birds cause havoc and automobiles catch fire. You can see six pack cartons of Hamm's Beer in cans and Schlitz six packs in bottles. The movie was released in 1963 so I think they were flats.

There is a scene in the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" where people are depicted drinking Atlantic beer and Old South Beer in bottles. I know the guy who provided the bottle props for filming. There are cans too but I cannot remember what they are. The movie was released in 1991.
Collector of Atlantic Co. (Old South, Atlantic, Steinerbru, and Signal Beer) and all pre-pro Georgia (Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, & Savannah) breweriana. Carling Atlanta too!

I've been watching the show "Longmire" on Netflix. It's about a sheriff in Wyoming and he only drinks Rainier. They show the cans probably once every 3 episodes.

Watching "After the Thin Man" on TCM tonight. Good 1936 mystery. No beer cans, but early on Nick and Nora are being driven through San Francisco and Nick yells to the driver of a beer delivery truck that is loaded down with barrels labeled "ACME" (no screen capture, sorry)

In the new Quentin Tarantino flick, "Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood," set in 1969, there is a movie-beer can I got three or four looks at, but never could read the fake label.

But in the scene where Cliff and his wife quarrel on a boat, there are straight-steel Brew 102 pints, including a pull-tab scene. I'll get an image once this thing goes to streaming and video in a few weeks.

There were some 16oz 102's prominently displayed in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and another brand created for the movie, Old Chatanooga, I think.

Just today I watched the Charlie Chaplin film The Vagabond from WAY back in 1916 (rented from library--been getting these more during the pandemic). Anyway, no beer CANS, but prominately shown partway through are some signs/emblems promoting Falstaff/Lemp beer. In the same scene there were two corner signs that I first thought said Cooks beer, but it turned out to say Cool beer. Obviously pre-pro, yet current at the time of the filming.

I agree - a Michelob. Bottle shape is pretty unique. I don't think they even make Michelob anymore...only forms of it- Ultra, Light etc. Look at how they originally shaped the bottle. No mistaking that for anything else. The only thing close I have to the shape is Andecker (Pabst)

Brian Piccolo played for the Chicago Bears, and I don't remember Brown Derby ever being available in Chicago. They needed the proper prop, like in the first season of "Better Call Saul" where Bob Odenkirk is in a Chicago bar in the early 70s drinking a bottle of Hamm's.

I just noticed it the other day. They were the 92/3 flat top cans as well (UK not export) Just after he made a snide comment "it would be like listening to the Beatles without earmuffs" Interesting because I believe they were in Miami.
