I've never seen anything like those cans. Incredible that they were filled!
Sure do enjoy seeing your acquisitions. Thanks for sharing.

Currently in a collecting funk. Waiting for the bug to bite again to get back into collecting some type of cans, on a small, affordable level.

Gordon Engeldinger is my uncle. He was a regional salesman for a large industrial chemical company since the 60's. All of the large Wisconsin breweries were his sales accounts. Because of his personality and his chemical sales to the breweries for so many years, he knew most of the top people at the breweries. That is why he was able to get his hands on some rare and unusual stuff over the years, including the 1930's aluminum cabottle from Pabst that is in one of the other threads.
Gordie has been slowly succumbing to Alzheimer's for the last several years. Unfortunately I had to help his wife liquidate Gordie's 35+ year Wisconsin collection in October of 2010.
We both started collecting at the exact time in 1974. I remember when we first started collecting I gave him a bunch of early 60's tabs I found in my friends basement and that I had doubles of. He was really happy because he had never seen them before.
Of course I was a 14 year old kid with limited spending abilities and he was an adult with a good job, so his collection quickly grew after that, but we always went to can shows together and we would trade whenever we could. Although whatever I would have to offer for trade was usually not worth much, he always gave me 10 times the value in return.
I am happy to see Gordie's things here, and that they will make someone else happy for the next 'X' amount of years. It's also nice to see the items noted as being from "The Gordon Engeldinger Collection". It's a sign of respect in a way.
