CONOSTYLE wrote:The Oertel's Real Draft cans have always been a favorite of mine. MAKER'S MARK story of BCU 98-24 explains why I could never find one in all my years of collecting. I always thought it was a Test Can. I submit my photo of the 5 different ones that I own. The third (middle can) is a rolled, unlisted enamel version of second can in my photo, Undoubtedly a Test Can in my opinion. As a footnote, the fifth can of mine is an air-sealed factory rolled example. The remainder are Zip Tops with the fourth can being an early U-Tab can.

@ Conostyle - Love all the variations! Visually, - the enamel version just really pops!
- Nice looking set! tx for posting!

So he we go again, as I have no idea where the other post went.
Yes, it is in fact just one sign. I kept the before photo to show that it was hand painted, and I assumed an artist's rendering for the ad Co. I have never actually seen it in poster, or cardboard form though. However, as soon as I saw your pic, and those colors knew it was confirmed work. Mine measures ( color portion only ) 24" wide by 11" high. I didn't get the painting until after this post / thread had already ran it's course. So thanks for posting the link on the other thread. That by the way , clearly needed to have Oertels inserted into the title somewhere???

JW - no worries re: response time. Nice to see that
multiple examples of the Oertels
frisky / amorous couple exists.

@ BobL - that Covington Tropical can is very tough - nice to see

any items from Covington, KY seem to be rare and difficult to acquire,

There has been a thread on Facebook about this can. Yes it's the same can only one known. I got to see it up close and personal back in June when he was shopping it around. Makes you wonder how many more unknowns are still out there.....

So you think the can is the real deal? When I saw it I thought it was a mock-up or a prop can. If it is real, is it a store brand and was it actually made by Falls City? I remember the can referred to Louisville and that is the only brewery that comes to mind.

OK, I went back to Sweeperman's original post and I see it was from Fehr's. I guess I will go with a store brand unless somebody got the real story on this one.

"5. Bavarian’s “Old Style” Beer IRTP. Extremely rare. I know of 3. Looks just like the common non IRTP version but has the IRTP statement under the 12 fluid ozs. Does anyone have others?"

Hmmmmm, I noticed the extremely rare IRTP Bavarians cone is in the top 5 rarest Kentucky cans. Only 3 known to exist. BUT, For some reason this can is worth no more then the common non IRTP Bavarians which would probably be #50 on a I-50 Top Kentucky list :smt017 LEON.
