How do you know there's a reserve if the auction listing/description doesn't say there's a reserve?
I guess we find out after the auction ends . . .

Re: Last Call for Pre-Bidding 11/17/19

They do it the third Sunday of each month if my memory serves correct. I don't know how other auctions do but there are at least a few great deals on each one of their auctions. No cheating going on here. Many cans surprise me with reasonable to below market prices. The Good Guys auctions have to b...

Someone provided the then-current BCCA, NABA and ABA rosters to Morphy's in 2012 for marketing purposes. The sender told me this directly and scoffed at the notion that it was in any way inappropriate.

Pennsylvania, based on the mandatory language. Theories and suspicions aside, I cannot count it as an Illinois can if it doesn't say so.

Re: Rarest cans by state - has there ever been a list?

I'm sorry. Excuse my ignorance here. How is a can tied to a state with regards to this topic? Does it have to be manufactured in that state? Does it have to be filled in that state? Does it have to be sold in that state? Does it just have to be found or dumped in that state? Curious mind...just wan...

Presumably, he's basing the buy-it-now price on what some other elite level cans have reportedly sold for (Krueger Special, Class, Gibbons Bock, etc.). Wouldn't this short run OD can rightfully belong in the same, holy grail price category?

Have to agree with Ed. Charging show volunteers exemplifies the short-sighted, member unfriendly thinking that the BCCA is famous for. The club survives in spite of itself due only to the commitment of individual collectors.

Nothing substantiated, but heard that Dan M. and a "group of investors" bought Gene's 12oz flat tops and cones (minus the cans Gene's keeping and the cans he already sold). Gene's tab tops, test cans and half-quarts were acquired by beercansplus. While the "investors" may siphon ...

I made a comment in the "To Re-Lid or not" thread....that anything you do to a can takes it further from the original and in my opinion reduces it's value....and you'll never ever be able to go back. That was mostly said about new lids, but it applies to touch up, acids, waxes, etc etc et...

Leaving can wraps on cans long-term can be harmful (I was told they actually "capture" or generate moisture and have seen older, damaged collections that support this theory).
