Re: Post office charges go waaaaay up!!!

Not liking this rate hike very much. Actually I haven't liked any rate hike. This rate hike will affect the costs of packages, both first class and priority, and yes they are going up, especially at the retail window. First class packages will now be subject to zone pricing, which means it will cost...

Re: Wow!!

It is actually an auction with the million dollar starting bid, but also has "best offer" which might imply that a more realistic offer might be considered with out having to place a bid. Since it did not sell with a $500 opening bid or best offer on the 15th, who knows what he really wants for the ...

I remember drinking Hulls back in the mid 70s while passing thru Connecticut. Very local distribution. They also picked up Holihan's and sold that in the greater Lawrence, Mass. area. Both were very drinkable.

Odd that it closed on 12/15 with no bids and a $500 starting price (actually $507).

This is the first year that a battleship Arizona survivor was unable to attend the ceremonies at Pearl Harbor.
With the youngest at 94 years old, the few remaining were no longer up for the long trip to Hawaii.
None the less, thank them all for their sacrifices. -Billy

The Philippines was a US possession from the end of the Spanish-American War until gaining full independence on July 4, 1946.
So, no different than any beer going to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
USA beer going to Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Caribbean islands, etc. would be an export.

That facebook page was from March of last year. Wonder if the new Malt Duck is still around.
I think it would be awesome if they released MD in a small batch of sticker label pint cans, only sold at the brewery tasting room and then all but a handful were thrown away or recycled!

The old Schaefer / Strohs plant in Allentown curretly produces a lot of malt beverages for Diago Samuel Adams bought the Allentown plant from Diageo several years ago. A lot of the other plants were closed by Falstaff, Strohs or Heileman before Pabst bought the brand names. The consolidations in the...

Re: Chronology of stylistic development of the beer can

This is quite a list of firsts, lasts, etc. I've always been interested in the 16 oz cans of 1954. Why 1954? Was some regulation changed that permitted 16's? Only the Krueger pint cones from the 1940s were earlier and they were not around for long. Some states prohibited pints (Ohio, Texas) so I thi...

I have the 'no stars' and it is a Continental can from plant 48. Also have the can with one star on each side, which is an American Keglined can.
The book doesn't recognize can company variations, but probably should with the 'star' difference.
